PLEASE, NO FLAMES. IT'S OKAY TO SHARE AN OPINION IN A CIVIL WAY, BUT FLAMING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Granted, there are a lot of Puzzleshippers out there who are hardcore Anzu-bashers. But there's also a lot of us who aren't. I'm a Pro!Anzu Puzzleshipper and proud of it, but I'm sick and tired of seeing Anzu/Téa bashing everywhere. I don't cheer for it or wish Anzu dead, even if Peach and Revolutionshipping AREN'T my cup of tea at all. (No pun intended)

There are many of us out there who write Anzu in-character, who think she's okay, involve her in pairings, heck, I know I personally like to write fics where she's the one who gets Yami and Yuugi together in the first place!

Anzu isn't some whiny obsessive and slutty girl who would kill to get her hands on Yami, like she's often written to be in fanfictions. At which part of the anime and/or manga was she seen caking makeup all over her face, sending Yuugi death threats, hatching stupid plans to get Yami and someone PLEASE tell me in which part of canon did it reveal that she's an ACTUAL cheerleader, as in with pom-poms and stuff? That's right, you can't name any of those parts of canon. Because NONE OF IT HAPPENED. (And the only way she can be seen as a cheerleader is that she cheers for Yami and Jounouchi during their duels, and you know what? So does Honda, and I don't see HIM in makeup and a miniskirt and being hit by a bus in the fandom.) Yes, she sometimes obsesses, but she's mature about it, and quiet about it. She's Yuugi's best friend, NOT his enemy. She's also not stupid, nor a slut, and she's the class representative in her class at school, so she's responsible.

The funny part? I'm not an Anzu fangirl. I'm just annoyed with this whole bashing business. Seriously, try writing characters in-character for once. Or here's an interesting one to all Anzu-bashing Puzzleshippers - if you usually bash Anzu, try writing a fanfic in which she's not bashed, even if it's only short. Maybe have her accept Yuugi and Yami's relationship, defend it, or even try to get them together. That applies to fans of other pairings who bash her too, only obviously change around the characters shipped to suit your needs. There's nothing wrong with shipping Yuugi and Yami while still being nice to Anzu. It won't kill you, it will only make you seem like a nicer, more mature person.

Stereotyping is always an issue, however. I'm sick and tired of being pegged as a hater all because I like Puzzleshipping. Is it honestly that odd to like both? I don't think so. A few bashers speak out for the whole of our side of the fandom and give us a terrible reputation, and that's not fair. Hell, it's not even just Puzzleshippers pegged like this; I was speaking to a Prideshipper today who complained about their part of the fandom being stereotyped the same way!

So, please. Thing logically. Not every single one of us wishes Anzu dead, nor are we rabid shippers who pounce on everything that doesn't fit what every other Puzzleshipper seems to think. We're all different, and we all seem to be clustered together and judged negatively by the other shippers. Some will hate, some won't, but find out where we stand before you judge us badly for it. PLEASE.
